Eric Brown
Eric Brown started Epoch Solutions in 1997. He moved to Manatee County with his family from eastern Pennsylvania in the late 1980’s. He initially started working for a custom cabinetry outfit in Sarasota before starting Epoch Solutions. It was there that he learned the intricacies of cabinetry finishes, construction, installation and design. Prior to moving to Florida, Eric worked in the construction industry for 18 years. He would tell you he went to “the school of hard knocks, a very expensive school!” Many people ask why he named the business Epoch Solutions. Epoch means a period of time in history or a person's life, typically one marked by notable events or particular characteristics. He thought it was well fitting for his new venture.His inspiration comes from his love of photography and history. He enjoys working with clients to develop spaces that reflect their individualism. One of his favorite quotes is from Eleanor Roosevelt, “Do something everyday that scares you.”When not designing beautiful spaces he enjoys sitting on the beach with a good book or riding bikes with his wife Patti. When he visits Pennsylvania, he visits family and likes to go fly fishing. Eric and Patti have three grown children. Together Patti and Eric have renovated several personal homes over the years and find enjoyment in doing so.
Ann Marie Hoeksema
Ann Marie Hoeksema, CKBD, is a Certified Kitchen and Bath Designer through the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA). She started working for Epoch Solutions as a CAD designer in 2005. She earned a Bachelor of Design in Interior Design from the University of Florida College of Architecture in 2000. Her various roles include designing interiors using 3D software, assisting clients with selections, procurement and overseeing the final installations. She would tell you she has loves what she does and has a passion for design. She enjoys the collaboration of a team in making a project come to fruition. She loves transforming lives through the built environment. Her inspiration comes from her various travels and continually learning about the industry from a global standpoint. She became a partner with Epoch Solutions in 2022. When not designing beautiful spaces, she spends her time with her husband and son building Lego, entertaining friends and family, traveling or working in the garden.
